5G TECHNOLOGY
What is?
5G is the fifth generation of mobile networks. It is developed from the previous networks such as 2G,3G and 4G. For the broadband cellular networks 5G is the fifth generation technology standard used in telecommunications. 5G provides faster connection speeds compared to other networks.
Any authorized company or person doesn't own the 5G. Qualcomm has played a serious role in industry to bring 5G as a next wireless standard.
Started by?
5G New Radio(NR) standalone network was launched by T-Mobile US which was the first company in the world. Altiostar, Cisco systems, Datang Telecom/Fiberhome, Ericsson, Huawei , Nokia, Qualcomm , Samsung & ZTE are the companies that sell 5G systems for carriers and radio hardware.
How is developed?
5G is developed by Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing(OFDM) which is a method of modulating a digital signal by different channels in order to reduce interference.5G used sub-6 GHz & mmWave bandwidth technologies.
Advantages of 5G:
- High efficiency and More effective
- Easy of slicing the network
- Over crowding of towers are reduced
Disadvantages of 5G:
- Very high cost to install tower stations
- Better battery technology is required in mobile phones for 5G connections
Countries that have 5G:
China, United states, Australia, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Switzerland, Qatar, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Portugal, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Japan, Canada, Germany, South Korea.
Applications:
- Self driving cars & drones
- Smart tracking devices
- GPS location tracking
- Radio Frequency Identification tags
- Satellite Internet
